Seed Hawk celebrates 30 years
The Seed Hawk concept, created in 1991, has since been a leader in zero-till and min-till farming practices. In 2006, Väderstad acquired 49% of the Canadian company, and the remainder in 2013. In 2017, the company was renamed Väderstad Industries Inc. and continues to gain ground among Canadian farmers, changing the face of agriculture with its innovative Seed Hawk opener assembly, Sectional Control Technology, the iCon wireless Control System, and Fenix III metering.
Agritechnica 2023 saw the world premiere of Seed Hawk 600-900C, built on the same well-proven concept but designed specifically for the European and international markets.

In 2022, Väderstad celebrated 60 years of new solutions. For 60 years, we have been changing agriculture, bringing new innovations and solutions to the market, making the everyday working life for farmers all over the world easier and more efficient.
– We are on a global journey together with our customers, a journey to find new ways to work their fields and grow their crops, to present new solutions that will improve their results further and make them even more competitive. We are grateful that an increasing number of farmers choose us as their partner for tillage, drilling and planting. We do everything we can, every day, to continuously meet or exceed their expectations, says Henrik Gilstring, CEO of Väderstad Group and third generation of the owner family.

– The Extract family of inter-row cultivators is a perfect match to our current portfolio of Tempo planters, to our new technologies for seeding with the upcoming Proceed concept and for future sustainable and efficient farming. It is also a new product segment for us at Väderstad, and one that we see a big potential for in the market, says Mattias Hovnert, Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing at Väderstad.
Prescription map tillage
During a press event in Austria in September 2023, Väderstad showcased our first-ever cultivator prepared for pairing with an autonomous tractor. With the help of Väderstad’s E-services, TopDown and Opus can use prescription map tillage, controlling machine settings such as working depth or intensity of the discs, tines, levellers, or packer automatically on the go using a field map. Väderstad TopDown with E-Control was also awarded as Farm Machine 2024 in the tillage category.
