An exceptionally heavy frame, combined with 33 cm (13") disc spacing, helps to produce an industry-leading weight per blade. This weight is leveraged to help penetrate and maintain depth in hard soils. As a result, the Wishek 862NT is commonly used to break new ground, since it can penetrate and turn over sod better than most other tools.

With a maximum working depth of 19.1 cm (7.5"), the Wishek 862NT tandem disc turns over more soil than most other discs. This action helps to bury large amounts of residue and create excellent soil-to-residue contact. The soil microbes can then work more effectively, helping to decompose the residue at a faster rate.

Hard ground conditions can cause problems with seedbed preparation and planting. The Wishek 862NT can be used to break up and mix the soil profile at working depths up to 19.1 cm (7.5"). It produces larger clods that help catch moisture and resist wind erosion over the winter. The 76 cm (30") diameter concave discs are capable of mixing large amounts of soil at depths up to 19.1 cm (7.5"). Smooth or notched blades are available. The notched option offers better cutting performance when sizing heavy residue or slicing into hard ground.

The Wishek 862NT tandem disc is equipped with spring-cushioned gangs that protect the discs from damage by allowing them to move and avoid solid objects. Additionally, the rear feathering discs ensure an even soil profile by eliminating ridges created by the front gangs, resulting in a uniform and precise soil finish.

The Wishek 862NT features spring-cushioned gangs that help prevent damage when the discs encounter rocks or other foreign objects. These gangs can move 152 mm (6") rearward and upward, providing a total travel of 305 mm (12"). This flexibility helps minimise costly downtime and repairs.
